Position Overview
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director, Marketing & Communications is responsible for strengthening Baby2Baby's brand and advancing its mission through strategic marketing and public relations initiatives. In collaboration with the CMO, this leader will guide all external marketing and communications materials to maximize national awareness and donor engagement. The ideal candidate will be an expert writer and innovative marketing professional who has delivered a broad range of assets including digital assets, printed collateral, video projects, newsletters, campaign ideation, and publicity campaigns.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the CMO, implement a comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plan to reinforce Baby2Baby's brand and mission.
- Create fresh collateral describing the organization's work and communicate new developments in a way that resonates with key audiences.
- Build and maintain marketing and communications assets including the website, newsletters, social channels, decks, one sheets, and other Baby2Baby collateral.
- Lead public relations efforts for the annual Gala and year round activities, coordinating with the external PR agency.
- Assist in creating presentations, speeches, talking points and press messages for the leadership team.
- Supervise the social media team and collaborate with the Senior Manager, Social Media on campaigns.
- Coordinate with third party agencies and vendors such as graphic design, web development, and digital advertising.
- Ensure all visual and written communications align with the Baby2Baby brand.
- Oversee photoshoots and filming projects.
- Foster strong cross functional relationships to achieve organizational goals and priorities.
- Monitor analytics across digital marketing efforts to optimize performance.
- Support Baby2Baby events including the Gala, distributions, conferences, volunteer sessions, and more.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of marketing, communications and/or public relations experience; at least 2 years of people management.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, etc.
- Strong leadership and collaboration experience with team management.
- Knowledge of current marketing and communication principles and strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with multitasking, organization and time management skills and a self starter mentality.
- Experience working with senior leadership and executive teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience communicating with high profile clients, celebrities, or VIPs.
- Effective project management skills.
- Experience working with advertising agencies and external vendors.
- Creative and out of the box thinker.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign and Illustrator is advantageous but not required.
- Some travel required.
