Events & Marketing Manager
Job Description
Based in Cincinnati, OH (onsite), this role offers USD 60,000–65,000 per year and leads planning, promotion, and execution of member events to drive sponsorship revenue, member engagement, and organizational visibility.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver HBA events across the calendar, including educational programs, networking gatherings, and flagship annual events.
- Oversee event timelines, on-site logistics, registrations, vendor management, venue relationships, and attendee experience.
- Create and monitor event budgets.
- Assess event outcomes and propose enhancements to boost attendance, engagement, and profitability.
- Partner with committees, volunteers, sponsors, and staff to ensure successful delivery.
- Craft and implement yearly sponsorship plans for HBA events and related programs.
- Identify and solicit sponsorships from members and non-members, and secure commitments.
- Maintain relationships with current sponsors while continually pursuing new opportunities.
- Fulfill all sponsorship benefits and deliverables.
- Design and execute event marketing campaigns to boost attendance, sponsorship involvement, and member engagement.
- Generate and manage content for email marketing, newsletters, digital ads, and social media.
- Create promotional materials and communications for events.
- Monitor marketing performance and adjust strategies using metrics.
- Oversee the HBA website, keeping content up-to-date, accurate, and engaging.
- Plan and execute a content calendar for social media and digital communications.
- Produce engaging content such as graphics, photography, video, member spotlights, event promos, and industry updates.
- Track engagement metrics and propose strategies to expand reach and participation.
- Act as a primary ambassador for the HBA with members, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Support retention and engagement efforts via strong relationship-building, excellent customer service, and proactive communications.
- Provide leadership to the Associate Member Council and other committees as assigned.
- Spot opportunities to raise member participation and enhance the member experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- At least five years in event management, marketing, communications, sponsorship development, or related fields.
- Proven success generating revenue through event sponsorships and partnerships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, email marketing tools, and CRM/database software.
- Availability to work evenings and weekend events as needed.
