Job Description

The Email Marketing Specialist at Bassett Furniture oversees the email production process and the logistical execution of campaigns, including scheduling and reporting, with cross functional coordination. This role operates on a hybrid schedule in Bassett, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Support the end to end production of email and SMS campaigns, coordinating timelines and deliverables across stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the design team, ensuring access to all assets, specs, and context for campaigns and events.
  • Own the scheduling calendar for messages across multiple target segments to preserve a consistent brand presence.
  • Monitor and support automated messaging, including triggered journeys, behavioral paths, and transactional messages.
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance on every send, verifying offers, discount codes, and a flawless user experience across devices and inbox clients.
  • Maintain high standards for list hygiene and stay current with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and related industry guidelines to protect sender reputation.
  • Collaborate with the broader marketing team to brainstorm creative concepts that showcase products and collections.
  • Assist in crafting compelling, on brand copy for email and SMS, with emphasis on high performing subject lines.
  • Apply a deep understanding of digital marketing best practices and furniture industry trends to campaign work.
  • Support the execution of dynamic content across all campaigns for personalized experiences.
  • Utilize customer data to build highly targeted segments, ensuring messages reach the right customer at the right time.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting channel performance, delivering insights to guide strategy and growth.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional marketing experience, preferably with an ecommerce or retail focus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM tools.
  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience with web analytics, such as Google Analytics.
  • Strong attention to detail, including identifying minor issues like extra spaces or broken links.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and creative partners simultaneously.
