Job Description

Compensation: USD 23 - 28 per hour. This onsite role is based in Fall River Mills, CA. The position supports the District's public relations and marketing efforts under the Director of Public Relations, focusing on developing and executing marketing strategies, managing communications, and overseeing content across multiple channels.

Position Summary

Under the Director of Public Relations, this role coordinates the District's public relations and marketing initiatives. It involves shaping and executing marketing plans, managing communications, and supervising content across multiple channels to align with organizational messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates professional conduct on duty and as a representative of MMHD outside of regular hours.
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues at all levels across the organization.
  • Exhibits above-average interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Learns new software quickly and applies it to tasks.
  • Conducts research and presents data concisely, offering appropriate recommendations based on findings.
  • Works independently with professional discretion.
  • Maintains excellent writing, editing, grammatical, organizational, and research abilities.
  • Delivers deliverables on time and within budget with minimal direction.
  • Communicates clearly with directors, managers, and coworkers.
  • Uses office equipment proficiently to perform job functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Manages and oversees MMHD's public relations and marketing efforts to ensure consistent messaging across internal and external communications.
  • Develops, coordinates, and implements marketing strategies and campaigns to promote District services, programs, and initiatives.
  • Maintains and updates the District website, coordinates with the contracted website developer, and ensures accuracy, functionality, and alignment with branding.
  • Coordinates with contract marketing personnel, vendors, and media partners to execute initiatives effectively.
  • Assists in creating and distributing public relations and marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, digital content, videos, and promotional campaigns.
  • Writes, edits, and proofs content for social media, press releases, email communications, website content, and other public-facing materials.
  • Oversees and maintains social media platforms and media contact lists to support outreach and engagement.
  • Serves as a liaison between departments to support internal communications and ensure messaging alignment.
  • Responds to inquiries from the public, patients, and stakeholders or directs them to the appropriate channel.
  • Conducts research and gathers information to support marketing initiatives, community outreach, and public relations strategies.
  • Ensures all materials reflect the District’s mission, values, and brand standards.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with community partners, media representatives, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Interest in the public relations industry.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Experience with copywriting, editing, and managing social media platforms.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
  • Involvement with personnel, visitors, and government agencies, etc., when necessary.
  • Ability to function independently, maintain personal integrity, and collaborate effectively with other personnel, clients, and support agencies.

Physical Requirements

  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
