Marketing & Communications Program Manager
Job Description
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking a Marketing & Communications Program Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of broad communication programs that align with the institution’s strategic priorities. This onsite role in San Antonio involves coordinating cross-functional teams, guiding multiple initiatives, and ensuring outputs meet brand standards and are delivered on schedule, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Leads the design, development, and rollout of broad communication programs that support the institution's strategic priorities.
- Oversees multiple initiatives, steers cross-functional teams, and guarantees deliverables are timely, on-brand, and aligned with goals.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and departmental staff to uphold quality, consistency, and engagement across all channels.
- Exhibits strong time-management, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Capable of juggling multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Maintains excellent written and verbal communication; can speak clearly and persuasively in varying situations; listens actively and seeks clarification when needed; responds effectively to questions.
- Writes clearly and informatively, adapting messages for diverse audiences.
- Proficient with MS Office, including Word and Excel, with advanced skills in PowerPoint, Publisher (or equivalent desktop publishing software), and SharePoint.
- Builds collaborative relationships and works with others to achieve shared objectives.
- Partners with key programs, departments, and other constituents to determine communication goals and objectives.
- Develops and manages the execution of large and small-scale communication plans from concept through completion.
- Plans span a broad range of mediums and media relations activities to support the institution's strategy, culture, and values.
- Implements internal communication plans that foster positive impressions of the institution and its brands, both internally and externally.
- Provides functional and project-based direction to staff and vendors.
- Coordinates activities with contracted outside vendors.
- Manages the editorial calendar and expands it over the year to align with broader content plans.
- Ensures all communications are accurate, easy to understand, and meet brand standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field.
