Job Description
This remote Manager, Marketing Content and Copy role at DeVry University leads brand voice and content strategy across marketing channels, with a salary range of USD 100,000 - 110,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Develop engaging, audience-focused copy for marketing materials including brand campaigns, web pages, paid media, paid search, emails, and other initiatives.
- Champion and steward the DeVry brand voice, tone, messaging, and personality to ensure consistency and quality across all content and channels.
- Partner with the Brand team to design and execute integrated campaigns, strategic initiatives, and content that strengthen brand awareness, engagement, and affinity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as Product, Academics, Marketing, Compliance, and subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, compelling, and accurate marketing content.
- Lead, manage, and coach contract copywriters to ensure high-quality output, brand consistency, and timely delivery.
- Develop and optimize content using advanced SEO best practices, including keyword integration, on-page optimization, content structure and readability, linking strategies, and EEAT principles to boost organic visibility.
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, grammar, and alignment with brand standards.
- Create brand-focused content that supports strategic marketing objectives, driving website traffic, inquiries, and enrollment goals.
- Ensure all content complies with university requirements, regulatory standards, and approved messaging guidelines while maintaining brand integrity.
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating ownership, sound judgment, adaptability, and effective prioritization while delivering high-quality results.
- Identify opportunities to improve content effectiveness, streamline processes, and contribute ideas that advance marketing and brand objectives.
- Support and participate in DeVry’s annual commencement and DeVry Day events through webpages, event materials, video and testimonial support, and on-site execution.
Requirements
- Experience: 5-8+ years in content marketing, copywriting, brand content, communications, or related fields, with 2+ years leading or managing writers, freelancers, agencies, or content contributors.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or related field.
- Content development: Proven ability to create strategic marketing content across digital, web, email, social, advertising, and brand initiatives, with strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
- Leadership: Experience leading projects, managing content workflows, and mentoring or coaching writers and contributors.
- SEO: Proficient in SEO principles, SEO copywriting techniques, and digital marketing best practices.
- Software: Comfortable with project management and workflow tools such as Asana, Jira, Monday.com, Workfront, and highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- AI: Ability to responsibly leverage AI-powered tools to enhance content development, research, and workflow while preserving quality, compliance, and brand standards.
- Industry experience: Experience creating content in regulated industries such as higher education, healthcare, financial services, or insurance is a plus.
- Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, project management capabilities, strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, problem solving, and a track record of delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
