Area Marketing Manager
Job Description
The Area Marketing Manager will oversee digital marketing for Sage Hospitality's San Francisco properties, including Hotel Zelos, Hotel Zetta, and Hotel Zeppelin. This role focuses on building and executing online programs, maintaining multiple hotel websites, and shaping each property's brand voice across social channels, SEO, content, and overall online presence. Onsite in San Francisco, the position requires collaboration with hotels and external agencies to drive measurable marketing results.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage online presence with engaging, on-brand content for branded sites, vanity sites, the company site, and third-party platforms.
- Collaborate with designated hotels and agencies to ensure hotel websites are optimized using current SEO best practices.
- Direct, manage or assist hotels and agencies in all areas of online and digital marketing, including website development and online campaigns.
- Plan and monitor ongoing email marketing campaigns across multiple hotel business units.
- Leverage reporting from agencies, brands, and Google Analytics to refine content and marketing initiatives.
- Recommend changes to reporting and analytics in response to technology, CMS updates, or evolving business needs.
- Maintain social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram) with imagery and copy aligned to each hotel’s identity.
- Manage promotional packages and campaigns, including sourcing creative, drafting communications, and delivering post-campaign recaps.
- Monitor trends, online media, and brand reputation; coordinate timely responses on online travel and review sites.
- Develop and implement company-wide public relations initiatives and programs.
- Partner with PR agencies to support property initiatives that reinforce identity and positioning, with timely execution.
- Use agency and third-party reporting to drive content, PR initiatives, and decision-making.
- Work with hotels to craft forward-looking identity statements used across online, social, PR, and collateral messaging.
- Direct or assist in creating breakthrough creative materials for online and offline use to support corporate and property goals.
- Assist hotels with communications materials (flyers, signs, eblasts), coordinating design with staff and agencies.
- Maintain a chronological media library and digital assets repository by property and activity.
- Apply current SEO strategies and manage content using content management systems (CMS).
- Maintain administrative familiarity with social media platforms and Adobe Creative Suite tools.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience
- Minimum 2–4 years in a marketing role
- Hospitality experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret manager letters, contracts, and proposals
- Effective negotiation capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and multitasking ability
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Computer literacy, especially MS Word for Windows
- Ability to communicate at all levels and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
