Associate Account Director (Influencer Marketing)
Job Description
The Shelf is seeking an experienced Associate Account Director to own a portfolio of client accounts and lead a team of account managers delivering integrated influencer marketing programs. This remote role positions you as the strategic and executional anchor across the book of business, coordinating with creative, paid media and strategy teams to align on goals and drive measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Craft integrated social and influencer strategies aligned with clear business metrics
- Serve as the main client liaison for day to day relationship management
- Guide strategic planning, quarterly business reviews, and campaign ideation
- Steer challenging client conversations with clarity and confidence
- Support new business pursuits by contributing to pitches and proposals
- Directly supervise 1β3 account managers or supervisors
- Offer coaching, feedback, and career development support to team members
- Delegate campaign workstreams and ensure output meets quality standards
- Cultivate an inclusive, high-performing team culture
- Deliver end-to-end, multi-platform influencer programs
- Manage influencer selection, briefing, content approval, and performance reporting
- Guarantee on-time and on-budget delivery for a varied client roster
- Foster collaboration across creative, paid media, and strategy teams to align goals and ensure smooth execution
- Act as the internal bridge between client needs and department capabilities, promoting clear communication and shared accountability
Requirements
- 5β7 years in digital, social, or influencer marketing, agency experience preferred
- Experience supervising direct reports and developing junior team members
- Strong knowledge of influencer marketing across paid and earned channels with hands-on platform expertise on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously with solid retention and growth results
- Proficiency with influencer management tools such as CreatorIQ, Modash, Upfluence, or equivalents
- Effective project management with meticulous attention to timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Skilled at presenting and leading conversations with VP and C-suite level clients
- Experience with paid social amplification, cross-channel integration, and performance reporting a plus
- Proficient with AI tools and able to apply them to streamline workflows, accelerate research, and enhance team output
- Familiar with productivity and collaboration suites including Microsoft Word, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and project management tools such as Asana
