Marketing Manager, Internal Communications
Job Description
CesiumAstro, based in Austin, TX, is building an internal communications function from the ground up. The Marketing Manager, Internal Communications will chart strategy, oversee planning and governance, and drive messaging that aligns employees with company priorities, reinforces culture, and sharpens organizational clarity, all while partnering with HR, Marketing, and Operations across the business.
Responsibilities
- Keep employees informed, aligned, and engaged, ensuring internal messaging carries the same clarity, discipline, and brand strength as externally facing communications.
- Develop and manage the internal communications strategy, editorial calendar, and priorities in line with company goals.
- Create and formalize internal communication processes, governance, standards, and workflows to support a growing organization.
- Draft and distribute internal communications across multiple platforms following established approval procedures.
- Support executive communications, including All Hands sessions, leadership updates, company announcements, talking points, presentations, and engagement messaging.
- Maintain and manage internal channels such as SharePoint, Teams, email, and other platforms.
- Coordinate cross-functional messaging to ensure alignment and consistency across the organization.
- Contribute to employee engagement efforts, culture campaigns, and major company milestones.
- Assist with planning and messaging for organizational changes, growth initiatives, and executive announcements.
- Track performance and engagement metrics, evaluate channel effectiveness, and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop visual assets and supporting content.
- Ensure all messaging reflects the company tone, brand standards, and strategic priorities.
- Support storytelling, organizational updates, and strategic communications initiatives.
- Partner with HR, Community Engagement, and Recruiting on workforce development communications, employee programs, university partnerships, internship visibility, and community initiatives.
- Establish governance standards, review processes, and messaging consistency across departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in internal communications, executive communications, marketing communications, public relations, or related fields.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to listen, learn, and translate complex information into clear messaging.
- Experience working with internal communication platforms and collaboration tools.
- Stellar organizational and project management skills.
- Comfort working cross-functionally with executives and multiple departments.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and unwavering attention to detail.
- Experience supporting executive communications, organizational change, or employee engagement initiatives preferred.
- Experience managing communication strategies, internal campaigns, and editorial planning.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution under pressure.
