Job Description

Valley Palms Care Center in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Marketing Director of Business Development to craft and implement a marketing plan aimed at increasing the facility census with an appropriate payer mix, in alignment with federal, state, and local guidelines. This role reports to the Administrator and works closely with management to drive admissions and strengthen community visibility. The position is onsite and centers on proactive outreach to healthcare partners and effective coordination of marketing activities to meet census goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Administrator to achieve census targets
  • Submit a weekly calendar of marketing appointments to the Administrator
  • Make daily contact with acute care case managers, social workers, discharge planners, and physicians
  • Manage patient family relationships and meet with them at admission to ensure required paperwork is completed
  • Assess potential patients in local hospitals and address questions about the facility
  • Maintain a database of physician and case manager contacts and profiles
  • Represent the facility at local community events to increase visibility and census
  • Adhere to the operational budget
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings
  • Oversee inquiries from physicians, discharge planners, and others; respond to referrals within 15 minutes of receipt
  • Ensure PDPM compliance by providing proper documentation for new admissions, including discharge summaries, therapy notes, nursing notes, and medication lists
  • Stay updated with Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admissions and discharges
  • Immediately report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor
  • Protect patient/resident files and data in line with HIPAA standards
  • Comply with all facility policies and procedures, including safeguarding user ID codes and passwords

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of sales/marketing/admissions experience in healthcare
  • Persuasive communicating skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Charismatic presenter capable of delivering marketing messages to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work effectively with acute care case managers, social workers, and physicians
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail regarding residents' medical records
