Marketing and Digital Content Manager
Job Description
Join Jacksonville State University’s Theatre and Film department as a part-time Marketing and Digital Content Manager. This on-site role in Jacksonville, Alabama offers a hands-on opportunity to shape digital storytelling for productions and student work across approved platforms. You will collaborate with faculty, staff, and student teams to build branding, produce social media content, and capture photography and videography. The position accommodates a flexible schedule around class commitments, up to 20 hours per week, with eligibility for Federal Work Study for qualifying students. The role pays $8.25 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Create and schedule social media content
- Capture photo and video content from rehearsals and events
- Maintain brand consistency across platforms
- Collaborate with department design workflows
- Assist with additional theatre production and facility tasks as assigned by the Technical Director after primary weekly responsibilities have been completed
- Deliver a weekly content calendar
- Publish a minimum of 1–2 posts or videos per week
- Provide an engagement metrics report with basic analytics
- Maintain an organized archive of captured media
- Stay current with social media platforms and digital content trends
- Apply basic photography and videography practices
- Adhere to branding and visual identity standards
- Observe copyright, permissions, and appropriate content use
- Follow university and departmental communication policies
- Create content for social media and digital platforms
- Demonstrate basic photo and video editing skills
- Write captions and other copy for posts
- Manage time and scheduling with attention to detail
- Ensure consistency in visual presentation across channels
- Be available for evenings or weekends as production schedules require
Requirements
- Reliable weekly availability
- Professional communication and conduct
- Enrollment as a JSU student taking at least six hours in fall or spring semester
- If not a first-time student, a GPA of 2.00 or higher
- Evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or enrollment/GPA printout from MyJaxState)
- Eligibility for Federal Work Study
- May not be a Dual Enrollment Student
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing social media accounts
- Familiarity with photo and video editing software
- Previous marketing, communications, or content creation experience
